Lippincott Williams & Wilkins’ Dental Drug Reference: With Clinical Implications Second Edition

Series: Lippincott Williams & WilkinsPaperback: 888 pagesPublisher: LWW; Second edition (March 19, 2009)Language: EnglishISBN-10: 0781798272ISBN-13: 978-0781798273 Product Dimensions: 1.2 x 5 x 8 inches Shipping Weight: 1.4 pounds (View shipping rates and policies) Best Sellers Rank: #233,678 in Books (See Top 100 in Books) #4 in Books > Medical Books > Dentistry > Pharmacology #48 in Books > Textbooks > Medicine & Health Sciences > Dentistry > Dental Assisting #52 in Books > Medical Books > Dentistry > Dental Assisting

I ordered this book through the deal factory. It arrived in good condition, and before estimated arrival date. I am a dental hygiene student, and this is the same book we use in the clinic to look up patient’s meds. I just wanted my own copy to save time. It is good because unlike a regular medical drug book, this has the oral issues each med may cause also. This was the most reasonably priced version of this book I found.

Fast shipping and Book is very helpful when I use it in my school during clinic and my rotations. Very happy with my purchase.

Star Wars Free PDF

Star Wars: Complete Vehicles Hardcover – July 29, 2013
Author: DK Publishing ID: 1465408746

Age Range: 8 – 12 yearsGrade Level: 3 – 7Hardcover: 200 pagesPublisher: DK Children (July 29, 2013)Language: EnglishISBN-10: 1465408746ISBN-13: 978-1465408747 Product Dimensions: 10.2 x 0.8 x 12.1 inches Shipping Weight: 2.9 pounds (View shipping rates and policies) Best Sellers Rank: #14,131 in Books (See Top 100 in Books) #238 in Books > Humor & Entertainment > Movies #5038 in Books > Children’s Books
There have been quite a few books released on Star Wars vehicles already, namely:

Incredible Cross-sections of Star Wars Episode I
Incredible Cross-sections of Star Wars Episode II
Incredible Cross-sections of Star Wars Episode III
Incredible Cross-sections of Star Wars Episode IV, V & VI
Star Wars Complete Cross-Sections: The Spacecraft and Vehicles of the Entire Star Wars Saga

Now, we have another new book, with most of the content rehashed though.

Compared to the previous compilation the Star Wars Complete Cross-sections which is 152 pages, also from DK, this hardcover is 208 pages. The extra pages come in the form of related film stills and commentary. Some film stills and additional commentary are also added to the cross-section pages.

The expanded edition comes with 4 new cross sections: Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder, the Medical Frigate, Home One and the Scout Speeder Bike.

The book itself is smaller in size to the first few books.
Excellent book if you are like me and weren’t able to ever purchase ALl of the Star Wars crossection books.
The size of all of artwork in this book is a little smaller than the size in the original DK books, but is still large enough to still marvel at all of the details in these intricately drawn, technical illustrations.
It’s a plus to have all of these crossection illustrations under one complied reference style book.
Highly recommend even if you have the larger version illustration books.

Updated Review.
I have, recently, purchased the older 2007 version of this book to do a comparison.

I decided to update my previous review of this recent version of this book to both dispel the idea of this 2013 version of this book being a "money grab" by DK and just a, so called, smaller formatted, rehashed version of the previous 2007 larger formatted version.

First, and most important to note is that while the overall page size has changed only in height, the width of the 2013 version of this book is near identical to the 2007 version of the Star Wars Vehicle Cross-sections reference book.
I did a book over book comparison of almost every page and layout of each page.
The actual size/scale of the actual cross-section artworks have not been reduced so significantly from the 2007 version to be jarringly noticeable. They reworked some of the overall page formhat and item callouts to accomdate the shorter height of the book. The difference in scale is NOT enough to take away from seeing all of fine details of these drawings.
In some instances, some of the vehicle cross-sections have gotten a larger scale.

Trigger Points FlipBook: Understanding Myofascial Pain and Discomfort Second Edition Pdf Download

Trigger Points FlipBook: Understanding Myofascial Pain and Discomfort Second Edition
Author: Anatomical Chart Company ID: 1587799596

Spiral-bound: 9 pagesPublisher: ACC; Second edition (May 1, 2007)Language: EnglishISBN-10: 1587799596ISBN-13: 978-1587799594 Product Dimensions: 14.3 x 11 x 0.4 inches Shipping Weight: 1.2 pounds (View shipping rates and policies) Best Sellers Rank: #427,187 in Books (See Top 100 in Books) #94 in Books > Textbooks > Medicine & Health Sciences > Medicine > Clinical > Pain Medicine #107 in Books > Medical Books > Allied Health Professions > Chiropractic #159 in Books > Medical Books > Pharmacology > Pain Medicine

This Book is a good reference for trigger points. I’m a massage therapist and find this book to be helpful both for my own treatment reference and also to educate clients on the subject. The large wall charts are better because they are larger of course but this book is a nice portable reference. you’ll definitely get use out of it..

As I own both Travell & Simon’s flipbook on TrPs as well as Clair & Amber Davies excellent and indispensible ‘Trigger Point Therapy Workbook’… I was expecting a format for mapping out TrPs that was as easy to understand as theirs… but this product is not only a bit difficult to follow but hard to read as legends for mapped symbols are tiny, which’ll make them that much more difficult to explain f2f with a client when time is short. Was hoping to be wowed… but instead… three stars.

This guide, plus the other related books/charts and Body Back Buddy have provided my household with a new lease on "feeling great!"

Already, we have used these for the specific challenges of piriformis syndrome, shoulder pain, finger pain, sore feet, and strained backs. The books and charts are illuminating teaching tools, The in depth anatomy and physiology are comprehensible and most likely much more than one would obtain from most physical therapists.

With most of us having high deductibles for health care, we consider these books, charts, and body buddy a bargain investment!

We have already shared these with many others.

A Charlie Brown Christmas Kindle Edition

A Charlie Brown Christmas(TM) (Five-Finger Piano) Kindle Edition
Author: Hal Leonard ID: B00GQZOBZI

File Size: 11377 KBPrint Length: 40 pagesPublisher: Hal Leonard (September 1, 2001)Publication Date: September 1, 2001 Sold by:  Digital Services, Inc. Language: EnglishID: B00GQZOBZIText-to-Speech: Enabled X-Ray: Not Enabled Word Wise: Not EnabledLending: Not Enabled Enhanced Typesetting: Enabled Best Sellers Rank: #95,355 Paid in Kindle Store (See Top 100 Paid in Kindle Store) #1 in Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Arts & Photography > Music > Musical Genres > Lullabies #11 in Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Arts & Photography > Music > Songbooks #36 in Kindle Store > Kindle Short Reads > One hour (33-43 pages) > Arts & Photography

There are several reasons I love this book. For one, the songs are very familiar and are pleIDg to play. These are instumental works so you get to play it the way it is performed, instead or incorporating the melody into the right-hand piano parts. The chord progressions are very interesting (flat 9th chords, flat 5th, etc.) especially the way they are voiced. You can see an example at the sheet music plus web site. There is another version of this book with parts that are easier to play. I have only seen one sample page from that book (Linus and Lucy) and in the other book it is played in C major and doesn’t have the left-hand rhythmic anticipations (first note begins an eight note early) while this book has the song in E-flat, which is a little harder to play but sounds richer. I have a QRS player piano roll of Linus and Lucy and I noticed that it matches the Christas CD better. The song on the CD goes through the main part of the song three times with two swinging (hard to play) refrains. The two refrains are a little different, with the second one being more dissonant than the first. The book documents only the second. The bass line for the refrains are simple walking quarter notes while the piano roll has a rag-time style alternating eight note bass notes and chords. This is fine by me because this is plenty hard to play as it is (triplets over quarter notes, etc.).

At any rate, check out the sample at Sheet Music Plus to see if the difficulty matches you ability. If so, this is a great purchase.

I got this book as a present one year and was absolutely amazed. I’ve always loved the Charlie Brown Christmas Special and came to appreciate the music more and more as I grew up. Reading through the book, I discovered that the authors had done a painstaking job of transcribing Vince Garauldi’s performance nearly note-for-note. When you first start playing "The Christmas Song" for example, you hear those flat-9 chords Vince loved to play and think to yourself, "Yeah, that’s the real deal." Even the improvised solos are transcribed wonderfully.

This is NOT a book for the faint of heart. If you are unfamiliar with playing jazz piano, you may quickly get overwhelmed. However, what better way to learn some advanced chord voicings than to play it exactly the way the arranger did? The songs are beautiful and incredibly fun to play, but without at least an intermediate piano skill level, you may get frustrated.

If you are looking for a Piano Solo book with arrangments by Vince Guaraldi for Charlie Brown Christmas music, This Is It! All of the songs from the CD "A Charlie Brown Christmas" appear in this book. Do Not be fooled by the word "arrangment", if you happen to be looking for the original music. All of this music sounds almost exactly like the CD (and movie for that matter) even to the point of being written in the same key (F Major, G Major, Ab Major sometimes). Excellent Buy!

It is so much fun to go back and read children’s books. The simplicity and beauty of the story and illustrations are a joy.

Goodnight Ipad is a parody of the much beloved Goodnight Moon book. Those of us who have had to battle teens over shutting down their electronics and just reading a book will find the humor not only in the words, but also in the illustration. And if you look close, even the daddy is a bit troubled by having to give it all up for the evening.

A sweet fun book that you will not mind reading over and over to your young ones.

Goodnight IPAD is a delightful, fun parody on the classic Goodnight Moon. I love the book itself. My low rating has to do with the quality of the binding. I am an elementary school music teacher and used this book as a read aloud. It fell apart almost immediately.

As a parent who read this book to 2 kids now grown with children of their own, it was a blast to see and enjoy this parody (with alot of truth in it). My son, now 29, laughed out loud and enjoyed both the text and the illustrations. His kids, aged 5 and 2 loved the illustrations, though they didn’t quite get the joke. I was able to point out the differences by holding and reading their own copy of Good Night Moon as we read this new version. BUT—–the book fell apart!!!! After only a week of use, with only adults handling and turning pages, half of the pages separated from the binding. I contacted , told them my problem, and a new complementary copy was sent to me, with a free shipping label to send back the damaged book. Let’s hope the new copy stays intact long enough for my grandchildren to read to their children!!!!

If you are looking for a book that will simplify your study of Nursing Pharmacology then don’t buy this one. I paid over $40 for it and even though the price seems to have come down a bit I still don’t think it’s worth the money by a long shot. If you must, buy it used, but really, don’t waste your money or time.

1) This book is over 700 pages – it will not simplify your study of Pharm. The pages are dense with text, the graphics are not useful and won’t help you remember key points. Much of the information is presented in the form of bulleted lists and no effort seems to have been made to boil things down to what is important or essential.

2) I have several other books from the "Incredibly Easy" series and they were useful. They were shorter and less comprehensive than my text book, but they gave me the essential information. Also, the graphics helped you remember key points and concepts. However, this book fails on all of these counts.

3) The book has a high-level table of contents with only 15 entries. One of them, for example, is Respiratory Drugs. The chapter has numerous internal headings, for example, beta blockers, anticholinergics, etc. but you will only know that by paging through the chapter. A detailed table of contents should have been included in this book. There are no chapter outlines either. So you will have to look in the index for any topic (e.g. anticholinergics) you are interested in – where you will NOT find the page range for the section that deals with this topic. Instead you will find every page, or page range, that mentions the topic you looked up. Bottom line – it is very difficult to find the information you need about a particular class of drugs, or about a particular drug.

Story: Substance, Structure, Style and the Principles of Screenwriting Hardcover – November 25, 1997
Author: Visit ‘s Robert McKee Page ID: 0060391685

.com Review

Writing for the screen is quirky business. A writer must labor meticulously over his or her prose, yet very little of that prose is ever heard by filmgoers. The few words that do reach the audience, in the form of the characters’ dialogue, are, according to Robert McKee, best left to last in the writing process. (“As Alfred Hitchcock once remarked, ‘When the screenplay has been written and the dialogue has been added, we’re ready to shoot.’ “) In Story, McKee puts into book form what he has been teaching screenwriters for years in his seminar on story structure, which is considered by many to be a prerequisite to the film biz. (The long list of film and television projects that McKee’s students have written, directed, or produced includes Air Force One, The Deer Hunter, E.R., A Fish Called Wanda, Forrest Gump, NYPD Blue, and Sleepless in Seattle.) Legions of writers flock to Hollywood in search of easy money, calculating the best way to get rich quick. This book is not for them. McKee is passionate about the art of screenwriting. “No one needs yet another recipe book on how to reheat Hollywood leftovers,” he writes. “We need a rediscovery of the underlying tenets of our art, the guiding principles that liberate talent.” Story is a true path to just such a rediscovery. In it, McKee offers so much sound advice, drawing from sources as wide ranging as Aristotle and Casablanca, Stanislavski and Chinatown, that it is impossible not to come away feeling immeasurably better equipped to write a screenplay and infinitely more inspired to write a brilliant one.–Jane Steinberg

I’ve read many books on screenwriting, and Story is certainly one of the best. Its conservative, to be sure, espousing all the tenets of Classical Hollywood Narrative: Three act structure, strong active protagonists, inciting incidents, causal chain, action not words – y’know the drill.
McKee, however, is not a member of the Syd Field school. Field gives writers rules; McKee offers principles. This is a critical difference. McKee believes in the craft and art of screenwriting above all else. Consequently, Story has a different tone to Field’s Screenplay . If you look beneath the surface of Story, you’ll find that McKee’s principles and views are far more flexible than anything Vogler or Field has offered the screenwriter.
While primarily focusing on what he calls Arch-Plot (Classical Hollywood Narrative) he also accepts the existence of other, alternative, forms. He also hails the greatness of those alternative narrative films throughout the book. These alternative narratives are not, however, the focus in Story. McKee believes that an aspiring writing needs to master the classical story form before adventuring elsewhere. His goal in the sheer bulk of Story is to educate, not indoctrinate, the reader about all aspects of Classical Narrative.
For many readers this will come across as a conventional approach to screenwriting. That it is. Unlike many other (traditional) screenwriting books, though, this is underpinned by McKee’s belief in the craft above all else. He doesn’t want you to just absorb, but rather think. about what he is saying. If you don’t understand how a traditional story works, and how to tell one well, what chance in hell do you have of telling your multi-passive-protoganist, anti-plot, 2-act, time-jumping magnum work?

William Shakespeare’s Star Wars Trilogy

William Shakespeare’s Star Wars Trilogy: The Royal Imperial Boxed Set: Includes Verily, A New Hope; The Empire Striketh Back; The Jedi Doth Return; and an 8-by-34-inch full-color poster Hardcover – October 28, 2014

Review

“It’s quite a feat to translate a modern masterwork like Star Wars into the most celebrated and enduring literary style known to humans… This trio is a delight whether [you] know Shakespeare, Star Wars, both, or neither.”—Anna Jedrziewski, Retailing Insight

About the Author

Ian Doescher the author of William Shakespeare’s Star Wars®: Verily, a New Hope. He lives with his family in Portland, Oregon.

Series: William Shakespeare’s Star WarsHardcover: 520 pagesPublisher: Quirk Books; Box Har/Ps edition (October 28, 2014)Language: EnglishISBN-10: 1594747911ISBN-13: 978-1594747915 Product Dimensions: 5.8 x 2.6 x 8.6 inches Shipping Weight: 2.4 pounds (View shipping rates and policies) Best Sellers Rank: #6,325 in Books (See Top 100 in Books) #89 in Books > literature & Fiction > Genre Fiction > TV, Movie, Video Game Adaptations #101 in Books > science Fiction & Fantasy > Science Fiction > Galactic Empire #217 in Books > Science Fiction & Fantasy > Science Fiction > Space Opera
When I first saw this project announced I wrote it off as just a quick cash grab, a hastily constructed piece that would take the STAR WARS scripts, flower them up with prose to resemble what the laymen thinks Shakespeare sounds like (lots of "thous" and "doths"), and that would be that. It felt like something that would probably get a page read here or there for a quick smirk during extended stays in the bathroom. I could not have been more wrong.

Very quickly it became apparent that Doescher is an avid student of Shakespeare and a lifelong fan of Star Wars. The books work on two very distinct levels. The first is the Doescher doesn’t just do a bro-like approximation of Shakespeare, he actually does his studied best to invoke the bard. From the iambic pentameter (the style and shape that Shakespeare constructed his plays in) to the creative use of the Shakespeare lexicon to make it sound as though each character is speaking in phrases coined by Bill himself. It’s authentic, not parody. But because the stories are so familiar to many of us, it’s easy to glean the meaning of unfamiliar phrases and words.

The second place these work is that Doescher makes humorous choices in these adaptations that gives a new life and charm to the stories. One of my favorite examples of this occurs early on in the first book (Verily, A New Hope). As R2-D2 is about to climb into the escape pod with C-3P0 he stops and delivers a monologue, the first time we hear him speak aside from the beeping sounds. He explains, in the eloquent verbiage of the style, that the success of him holding on to the plans for the Death Star is dependent upon him not speaking, but remaining in a way as to appear "simple".
There’s been a lot of (justified) criticism of George Lucas’ cheesy writing style, and there’s some trepidation about how JJ Abrams will handle the new sequel. So who could produce a Star Wars script that exceeds expectations?

How about Shakespeare?

That seems to be the idea behind Ian Doescher’s "William Shakespeare’s Star Wars Trilogy," a deliciously witty reimagining of the Star Wars saga in glorious iambic pentameter. While obviously a very funny spoof ("Now is the summer of our happiness/made winter by this sudden, fierce attack"), it’s also a very well-written and eloquent experiment in pseudo-Elizabethan verse.

Anyone who has paid attention to pop culture in the last fifty years knows the main story already — two droids land on Tattooine, give a message to old Ben Kenobi, he trains the plucky hero Luke Skywalker to be a Jedi, there’s a guy in a dark helmet who (spoiler) turns out to be Luke’s dad, Luke snogs his sister by accident, a few Death Stars blow up, and so on. If you know none of this, then please join the rest of the world.

A lot of people don’t realize that, pre-copyright laws, Shakespeare actually was the master of taking preexisting stories (some fictional, some not) and sculpting them into the classic stories we know and love today. Yes, Shakespeare was the original producer of remakes, reboots, and "re-imaginings." Wrap your brain around that.

So the idea of him writing a somewhat less awkward Star Wars screenplay isn’t actually that hard to imagine. And Ian Doescher… well, he does a really, really good job of bridging parody and actual sort-of-kind-of Shakespearean verse in this.

Good friends gave me many art guns as a item recently, and i also quickly started to be addicted to models like these. I searched countless similar companies have “test driven” concerning 15 of those now. This guide turns out to be the best. I never do love JUST ABOUT EVERY design available, but I enjoy enough of those that I am about to purchase my 3 rd copy. Indeed, I could (and have tried out to) photocopy the webpages to avoid purchasing the book once again, but the high quality of the duplicate paper People isn’t really compatible with the particular Prismacolor Art work Markers which i use. It doesn’t mean that you won’t or should make replications for yourself. I really like this product a great deal that I never do mind wasting $3. ninety five, and I think I’ll order a collection of them. The particular designs are usually that pleasing to me. I wish to try all of them out in a quantity of shade patterns.

These types of designs provide such pleasing detail inside a format that isn’t so little that you have to scrunch up your eyes while experiencing the webpage, yet nor are they simplified, childlike, approximately large of which using guns results in lines as you make an effort to fill the area. The scale in the designs deepens itself effectively to the Prismacolor art guns I use. If you want to use different shades of identical color, these kinds of designs are usually structured in a manner that allows you to test wonderfully your technique.
